Concept Teaching in a History Course: An Analysis of Secondary Education History Curriculum and Course Books in Turkey

The purpose of this study was to review concept teaching for a history course, and analyze compare the case secondary education curriculum course books in Turkey context over past decade. concepts be taught were written item-by-item 10th-grade (2008) curriculum, whereas not 9th- (2007) 11th- (2009) grade curricula. curricula that prepared 9th, 10th, 11th grades 2018, consolidated into booklet, drew attention importance aimed teach within course; however, it did specify curriculum. While examining education, observed 9th-grade book 2009 introduced under heading ‘Basic Concepts’ at beginning each subject, unit; there no list 11th-grade book, neither unit nor subject. As result, may suggested target should word-by-word these using alternative methods.
